I have a study that has sample with 20,000+ businesses, each with 10+ employees. Let’s say I only want to allow one complete per business. I can’t use the password because each practice has multiple doctors so I thought the best way to handle this was to set a quota per practice id. Is there a quick way to create 20,000+ quota without having to manually enter each quota cell?
Quotas would indeed be the best way to accomplish this. The first thing you’ll need to do is set up your survey to capture a unique identifier for each business. Probably the best way to do this would be to create a password field in the Questionnaire Access & Passwords area. We’ll call our field BID for business ID.

You could additionally create more password or pass-in fields if you wanted to include other information in a link to a respondent. For example, you might send the same BID to three people, but also pass in their e-mail or first name to later identify which employee took your survey.

After setting up the survey to capture information embedded in a survey link, you can then set up a quota question for each BID value. SSI Web version 8 and later can import quota logic from CSV files, so you could quickly make 20,000 rows in a CSV and import in your quota logic.
