Semantic Differential – 100 point scale

Hi,

I have a semantic question with following instructions

Drag the slider toward the name that is most appealing.  Drag it closer to a name if you like the name much more than the other name.

SEMANTIC DIFFERENTIAL – 100 POINT SCALE

1. APPLE
2. CISCO

Any suggestions please?

And also I need to hide the 'Scale Anchor Text' list. How to do that?

Thanks
Abdul

I'm not sure I understand your first question.  Can you expand on what the problem is?

For your second question, do you want to simply not display the first row in the semantic diff?  If so, you can hide it with some quick CSS.

<style type="text/css">
#SemDiffQuestionName_div > .question_body > table > tbody > tr:nth-child(1) {
    display: none;
}
</style>

Hey Abdul,

Here is what we understood from your query.

Since you are an seasoned programmer, so I am sure you are not looking for help regarding programming semantic differential but facing difficulty when programming this question with 100 point scale.

This is again my assumption that list was appearing big when you specify 100 items in list which is why you wish to hide anchor text scale.

If above is correct, then below is my suggestions:

1. Keep list of 100 only but display text at interval of 10 like:

1
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
10
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
blank
20
.........

Now to reduce the size of scale, remove the padding using:

<style>
.inner_table td {
    padding: 0px;
}
</style>

Your page will look like:

Happy to assist further!
