Best practice re database setup and management

Hi all

What is best practice when managing databases in V8?  All jobs in the one database?  Separate database set up for each job?  A new database set up each month?  Interested to know how folk have chosen to run things and the reasons (if any) behind their decisions.

BTW, we are running 8.2.4 and mySQL.

I am using one database for all studies. I created separate database only if any survey is going live always and i am using tables to show reports. If there isn't any other reporting type requirement. I always use same common database.

Hi Marion

I setup a new database per survey. Thinking this might make deleting/archiving a survey easier. I need to try keep the number of files on my server down rather than the number of databases. Deleting an entire database seems easier/safer than removing tables from within a database???
