How to add numeric grid question?

Hi,

Is it possible to add numeric type grid questions in the survey?
say for example, we would like to capture number of persons in a family under the below age groups

Children 10-14 years
15 – 19 years
20 – 24 years
25 – 29 years
30 – 34 years
35 – 39 years
40 – 44 years
45 – 50 years

is it possible to as a grid? If not then what is the alternate option we have?

Regards,
Ram

You can use a constant sum question which allows numeric responses to be entered for a number of items with a total appearing at the bottom.

I have forwarded your query on to Zachary Anderson.

He has a bag of tricks that should help you out.

Expect an answer over night.
There are no such options available under constant sum settings, can you please re-look at this and confirm
Click on the Advanced button in the bottom left corner and go to the Constant Sum Settings tab.

It's under there.
I'm not sure why we've ended up using a constant sum question rather than a grid question with numeric inputs, but this JavaScript will swap the labels and inputs on a CS question:

<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
    $('#[% QuestionName() %]_div .inner_table > tbody > tr > td > tably > tbody > tr').each(function(){
        $(this).append($(this).children('.input_cell'));
    });
})
</script>
Thanks Zachary for assisting so swiftly.

They need the running total down the bottom was the reason for the constant sum.

Either that or you use a numeric grid and then insert JavaScript to include a running total.
