Possible to adjust a follow-up metric based on MaxDiff results?

I have a client ask to adjust a follow-up metric which was intended as an anchoring metric and contains the same list of  items in the MaxDiff. The client would like to adjust this metric based on the MaxDiff results. What I'm imagining is that the anchoring metric could be weighted according to the rescaled MaxDiff scores. Just wondering if anyone has done this before, if so, what's the best procedure and/or if there are any strong arguments against doing this.

I've done this for clients before.  I used the probability transformed MaxDiff scores as weights for the corresponding items for the anchoring metric/index.

I don't recall a particular "gotcha" from doing this.  Do you have particular concerns?

Thanks Keith! I didn't have any particular concerns, just wanted to make sure this wasn't a big no no. Thank you very much for your input
