Grid Question Format

This one is pretty basic but I just started designing questions and I'm not getting along with the getting-started-manual, as it does not show the same points as the format tab.

I'm using a grid question to set up a scale in my survey: a standard statement rating.

Not my question is:
How do I align the statements (the row labels) to the left of the table? The statements have different lengths and therefore I want them to start at the left side for a better layout.

Thanks for any help!

Under the Rows tab, there is an option that says ...

Position Row Label on the [Left / Right] of the grid.

Select "Left" in your case.

Let me make a further comment ...

I read your query rather quickly.

My first suggestion was placing row labels on the left side.

To justify the row labels to the very left, click on the paint brush and under the Rows tab and along side Justify, select "Left".

I think I've covered everything.
