admin.pl line 17 error

We have been getting a LOT of the following error messages in our Apache log:

AH01276: Cannot serve directory /var/www/vhosts/837470-db2.evansresearch.com/evansresearch.net/CCM/JP/admin/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,index.shtml,index.cfm,index.php,index.htm,index.php) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

Has anyone else been seeing this?

This looks to be an error you can probably ignore.  This means that someone is actively trying to browse to your admin folder of your survey directly.  If they are true users of the software, there should be no reason to try to browse to that folder using a web browser.  If you are able to see the browser User-Agent field on those lines in your log, see if they are bots or web crawlers which are very common.

I checked the server logs and matched up the times and IP addresses . . . it's us . . . every time we log into the admin module. So, you're right, no harm. But it seems odd that the admin script would be trying to browse the directory.
That is true.  What are the permissions for your admin module folder?
What could also be happening is there could be a web reference to that folder instead of the graphics folder and since the permissions are usually write and execute its erroring out.
Yep, permissions are write and execute for the admin - - all of them are:

r-w-e
 - - -
  -w-e
