Mirko Hirschmann

Mirko is a doctoral student at the chair of management at Trier University (Germany). During his master studies, he completed a semester abroad at Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland). There he set his study focus on business ethics, corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship. Afterwards, he decided to join the research field of social entrepreneurship, because the pro-activeness of this field and social ventures’ goal of maximizing positive impact convinced him.

Since October 2018, Mirko conducts research on Social Entrepreneurship. In his first project, he joined a colleague who analyses the decision criteria of supporters of social ventures by means of the Choice Based Conjoint method. Although the social venture sector grows as well as its research field, it still lacks quantitative research. This research project helps to close this gap analysing for instance selection criteria differences between financial and nonfinancial supporters. The results will provide social ventures with an assistance in their strategy development or finance applications.
