Franziska Moser

Franziska Moser is a graduate student of Management, Business and Economics at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Prior to her studies in Management, she obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture and is currently pursuing her PhD in this discipline. Her research in both Architecture and Management focuses on the effects of the physical work environment on human behavior.

In her current research project, which is part of her Masters Thesis, she investigates to what degree property-specific measurements enhance employee satisfaction in the workplace. Even though the overall relationship between the physical work environment and the well-being of employees is established and already practiced in the design of company buildings, the underlying utilities of the employees and trade-offs between different workplace configurations are not yet comprehensively understood. Her research therefore focuses on the quantification of the utilities of different office layouts, the assignment of work space and the provision of amenities. From this analysis, she will formulate recommendations for building owners and planners that aim at decreasing uncertainty regarding the planning process of workplace concepts and increasing workplace satisfaction.
