Melanie Franke

Melanie is a PhD student at the Department of Finance at the RWTH Aachen University. Her research concentrates on sustainable real estate, for example energy efficiency of buildings. Therefore, she evaluates whether and how legal requirements influence the perception of green residential properties from the consumer’s point of view.

Using a Sawtooth Software’s CBC method, Melanie will investigate the role of energy efficiency in the rental decision-making process in the German housing market. The aim of her study is to determine the importance of energy efficiency in comparison to other decisive housing attributes. Thus, she plans to field her study in an authentic and realistic environment, which is comparable to existing real estate platforms by using Sawtooth Conjoint Analysis.
