SSI Web reports "Run time error 429: ActiveX component can't create object"
when trying to calculate utilities for an ACA study.

Version:  Any
Products:  ACA/Web

Issue:

When clicking on the "Calculate Utilities..." menu option on the "Analysis" menu in SSI Web, the following error appears:

Run-time error '429':
ActiveX component can't create object

Cause:

This error usually occurs when the CoUtlOLS.dll file (which installs with SSI Web) is not registered in the windows registry, is not present, or has become corrupt.  Sometimes other Windows files that CoUtlOLS.dll file depends on could cause this error to occur.

Resolution:

Sawtooth Software has created a file that will try to register the CoUtlOLS.dll.  It can be downloaded here.  After downloading the file, unzip it and then double-click it.  (This method will only work if SSI Web was installed to the default directory.)

If this does not solve the problem, please contact technical support for additional help.
