Suggested Readings, Presentation Slides and Exercises for Teaching Conjoint Analysis

This portion of our web site includes classroom resources for teaching conjoint analysis. Resources include white papers in .PDF format, slides in .PPT format, example data in .XLS format, and suggested curriculum and student exercises in HTML format. All materials may be used in full or in part and freely distributed in electronic or hard copy form, as long as the citation "Copyright Sawtooth Software" is included somewhere on the document. We encourage instructors to extract or modify these documents (power point slides, white papers, data, or exercises) to suit their needs, as long as the citation "Portions Copyright Sawtooth Software" is included.

We invite your suggestions/corrections regarding these materials. This area and the available materials are a work in progress. We have our biases, we are certainly not immune to errors, and our field is rapidly developing.

However, student versions of Sawtooth Software's conjoint systems may be used to complete a student research project. A student lab license covering both web-based conjoint systems (ACA/Web, CBC/Web) is sold for $1000, and we include all three Windows-based student lab conjoint systems in that bundle. Student versions are just like the professional versions, except they may only be used for teaching purposes, and are limited to analyzing no more than 250 respondents and 10 attributes.
