Sabrina Meyfroidt

Sabrina Meyfroidt is a PhD student at the departement of Rheumatology at the KU Leuven in Belgium. The major focus of Sabrina Meyfroidt’s PhD is the study of implementation of intensive combination treatment strategies (ICTS) for early rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Despite the availability and demonstrated effectiveness of ICTS for early RA, a discrepancy seems to exist between theoretical evidence and actual prescription in daily practice. The objective of our study is to quantify the relative importance of the factors, generated in our previous qualitative study, influencing the prescription of ICTS for early RA. The factors previously explored through semi-structured, in-depth interviews with rheumatologists, nurses and patients with early RA from different rheumatology practices all over Flanders will be selected by expert opinion to be included in a computer-based choice-based conjoint analysis survey. The survey will be administered in a convenience sample of rheumatologists attending Annual Scientific Meetings. These results will be used to design a quality improvement strategy for supporting healthcare professionals and facilitating the prescription of ICTS.
