Sean Hubbard

Sean is a PhD candidate in the Public Policy and Political Economy Program at The University of Texas at Dallas. His research interests focus on the decision processes and risk management practices of those with limited financial resources. Additionally, he is interested in incorporating knowledge of these processes and practices into policy making.

Sean’s dissertation “Consumer Credit: Perspectives of Borrowers and Lenders” examines the credit choices of those using high-cost credit. Using a sample of borrowers with access to unregulated credit this project seeks to identify important decision factors and the value borrowers place on these factors. The results will identify the needs and preferences of this class of borrowers and perhaps provide guidance to future credit policy.

The target audiences for this project are policy makers at the local, state, and federal levels. The result, will hopefully be credit policies that improve the financial well-being of those currently using high price credit.
